StartSmart: Entrepreneurs in Residence

StartSmart Team

The ‘StartSmart’ Entrepreneur in Residence program is defined by the following: Work with StartupSeattle, volunteer with local startups and create a startup as a team. This allows each EIR to learn from StartupSeattle mentors and fellow entrepreneurs within the community to enrich their knowledge and entrepreneurial skills, while providing student participants with potential pathways for future careers.

Andrew Tat is a recent high school graduate from Lakeside School in Seattle, Washington and will be attending the University of Washington this upcoming autumn. He hopes to major in Computer Science as well as possibly minor in Photography.

Sylvia Xu is a recent graduate of Lakeside School in Seattle, WA. She will be attending Colby College in Waterville, Maine in the fall. She is expecting to double major in Business and International Relations with a focus in Gender Studies. She was a coxswain for her high school crew team as well as a pianist for the orchestra and hopes to continue both in college.

Molly Donnelly is a senior at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business and will be graduating in December 2012. She’s earning a double degree in History and Business Marketing/Entrepreneurship and a Music Minor. She found out about StartupSeattle through colleagues in the Lavin Entrepreneurship Program at the UW Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Molly is now working to help with event planning and public relations/marketing at StartupSeattle through the StartSmart Program. Molly is inspired by helping communities, working with small businesses and mentoring. She has an array of experience in event planning and sponsorship endeavors.  Molly is also a world traveler, volunteer in her community, trumpet player in the Husky Marching Band and an aspiring photographer.

Shira Genauer is a student at Stern College in New York. She is a part of the Syms Business Program at Stern and is majoring in Business Management and Entrepreneurship. Currently, Shira is an Entrepreneur in Residence at StartupSeattle in the StartSmart program and hopes to cultivate her own ideas through this experience and the advice and mentorship of fellow entrepreneurs. Aside from education and work experience, Shira is a dancer and a volleyball player at Stern College.
