Mentor Spotlight: John Sechrest

John Sechrest is a long time technologist, entrepreneur and a collaborator to many other entrepreneurs. John started his career as an engineer at Hewlett Packard in Corvallis, Oregon. He then joined academia providing System Admin services to the OSU CS department. This grew into the role of director of various programs at Oregon State University. From 1996 to 2003, John ran PEAK Internet Services, a successful OSU spin-off company. PEAK raised capital from outside investors and expanded the customer base to cover Corvallis and surrounding areas.

Recently, he has served as a board member of Startup Weekend, the Economic Development Director for Corvallis, and as the Executive Director of the Northwest Innovation Resource Center, and consulting for various parts of the startup ecosystem.
