For the past 24 hours, the Seattle Twittershere is all A’Tweet with noficiations of friendly seeming guys with “We Heart Startups” t-shirts showing up at any gathering of more than 3 startup founders in the Seattle Metro Area.

Mike Farrington of SoMoLoBout (About.me for Social + Mobil + Local Apps) first noted the phenominon:

“It seemed like a normal occurrence when they showed up to “Open Coffee”  but as reports came rolling in of sighting from TechStars, MakerSpace and the vicinity of The Hub…..  founders everywhere began to take notice. “

As this story has developed, our tip line received an anonymous email from an individual named “Sampson” providing proof that these men of mystery were convening small groups of founders in their AirBnB rented Lair… !

In my quest for journalistic entegrity and getting the scoop on this story, I convened 2 other founders to meet me in front of The 5 Point at High Noon.

Sure enough, within minutes smiling guys in matching “We Heart Startups” t-shirts appeared out of nowhere!

I tried to seize the moment and interrogate these north western intruders only to be thwarted by their benevolent desire to learn about my startup and help me…. ?

Some how half an hour later I was giving them High-5′s and strangely filled with what felt like sunshine…

So sadly I failed to break their outer layer of kindness

If any of you spot them in the coming weeks in congregations of founders, I have one work:

RUN!

You better act quickly and head for the hills.  Because if you make a mistake and make eye contact with them, before you know it, you will be giddy with excitement about joining the next weekly class of their free online incubator!!!
