Partnering with Microsoft BizSpark: Helping Startups Succeed!

Website…launched! Mission statement…published! 2012 Goals…set! The best possible partners….done and done!

For the past 60 days, Seattle has gone above and beyond to help StartupCity become a reality. In the process of piecing everything together, Microsoft provided critical insight, support and resources on how we can best help the community grow. Simply put: StartupCity would not be what it is today if it weren’t for our partners, and more specifically, tech giant, Microsoft!

StartupCity is a partnership with Startup WeekendFounders Co-opTechStars and Microsoft BizSpark to improve the quality of startup focused events – providing a free event space and connecting organizers with the engineers, creatives, and business folks who make this such a great startup city.

I’ve had the pleasure of working with a dedicated team of evangelists at Microsoft that have one thing on their mind: “Helping startups succeed with all the right resources!” They call themselves “BizSpark”, and here’s why you should know about them:

Microsoft BizSpark is a global program that helps software startups succeed by giving them access to software development tools, connecting them with key industry players, and providing marketing visibility. The program also includes access to Windows Azure, a flexible, comprehensive, and powerful cloud platform for the creation of web applications and services. In addition, BizSpark offers technical support, business training and a network of over 2,000 partners to connect members with incubators, investors, advisors, government agencies and hosters. Since it was established in 2008, more than 45,000 companies in over 100 countries have joined BizSpark.

BizSpark also helps startups by supporting the network of organizations – startup incubators, investors, advisors, government agencies – that are equally involved and invested in software-fueled innovation and entrepreneurship. StartupCity is proud to be one of these organizations along with our partners, Startup Weekend and TechStars.

BizSpark, TechStars, Founders Co-op and Startup Weekend will do their best to be at every event, to answer your questions and make the most of your time. Don’t be a stranger! Have an idea? Looking to Startup? Need help? Check out our calendar of events, stop by and say hello! Let us know how we can best help you!
